Dennis Publishing - the multi-national company behind major magazines and websites such as The Week, Monkey, Know Your Mobile and IT PRO - is looking for an ambitious online editor to set up a New York office for Know Your Mobile.

The role would be ideal for someone working on a technology blog/website/magazine in the US who wants more responsibility and is prepared to work hard and multi-task across a variety of disciplines in order to build up a website from scratch.

The work will be hard but you will be able to draw on the expertise of an international team of editorial, advertising, publishing and search optimisation specialists to help you out.

The online editor's role is full-time and based in Dennis' New York offices located on the Avenue of the Americas.

The role involves:

• Developing excellent PR contacts in the US
• Writing news articles on the mobile phone industry from a consumer perspective
• Reviewing new phones, applications and accessories
• Writing new user guides to accompany new handsets
• Rotating existing stories using the content management system (CMS) to ensure all parts of the site get home page visibility
• Analysing the site's statistics and identifying and building on popular content
• Promoting articles using social media, link exchanges, bulletin boards and ensuring the site is search optimised for hot search terms
• Writing a weekly email newsletter
• Identifying popular phone launches and channels for them based on the current site's layout and structure
• Coming up with new creative ideas to improve the site and build its audience with fresh content or web applications

The ideal candidates would have/be:

• Graduate
• 2 years' writing/editing experience
• Ambitious in new media
• Entrepreneurial self-starter
• Heavy internet user (ideally with experience of content/blog creation)
• Image editing skills (Photoshop, Fireworks, PSPro)
• HTML nice to have, not essential
• Mobile phone background will be very advantageous
• Aptitude for using data analysis and SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Adwords Keywords Tool, Google Trends
