Enable Parental Controls

Enable the parental controls on your iPhone using our handy guide

Published on Sep 11, 2009

With iPhone 3.0 you now have the option to restrict the content and applications that can be viewed or used on your iPhone.

So you could, for instance, stop the iPhone playing any movies that have been rated 15 or 18. Or prevent an unauthorised person from buying and installing apps from the App Store.

To enable Parental Controls - or Restrictions - click on Settings then General and scroll down to Restrictions.

Click on this and then Enable Restrictions. If this is the first time you have accessed this feature you will be prompted to enter and re-enter a four-number passcode.

Then you will arrive at the Restrictions control panel where you can choose which applications can be used as well as the level of access to rated content such as movies, music and applications.
