Enable MMS messaging
Find out how to enable MMS messaging with our guide
Published on Sep 11, 2009
The iPhone 3.0 brings with it the ability to send MMS messages containing photos, videos or contact information in the same way as you send a text message. This does require support from you operator and thankfully O2 in the UK does this fully.
To send an MMS you first have to activate the feature - go to Settings then Messaging and switch on MMS Messaging. (Note: you can also toggle the Subject field on and off with this screen).
Now when you open the Messaging app and click on the New Message icon you will see a small camera icon to the left of the text input field. Click on this to get the option to take a photo or choose an image from the library. (If you are lucky enough to have an iPhone 3G S you get the additional option of video).
Choose or take the picture and a tumbnail will appear in the input box. You can add a few words of text too and then click on Send to send the message.
Similarly when you receive an MMS you can now view and save the attached picture from within the Messaging app - no need to launch Safari to view it on the O2 website!
