Toshiba TG01 launches in Germany

Following its Japanese début, the Toshiba TG01 has launched on the Telefonica-owned, O2 Germany.

We're getting excited now that the TG01 is seeing release tantilisingly close to our shores, but we've still got no official word of a release date for the handset that comes touting an impressive 4.1-inch touchscreen display.

It's not every day that we get to write about a new honest-to-goodness Toshiba smartphone so we've been keeping our eyes on this one pretty closely; which makes it even more disheartening that we're still none the wiser on it's release here.

The TG01 comes with more than just screen real-estate; with an ace up its sleeve in the form of its nippy 1Ghz Snapdragon processor – and as the Samsung Jet's 2 million pre-orders testifies; speed sells. Also on-board is WiFi, HSDPA, and a 3.2-megapixel camera.

According to Pocket-Lint.com, the TG01 will set you back €20 up-front as well as €20 per month on a 24 month contract.
