Nokia N97 gets software update

The Nokia N97 has been given a firmware update that improves the overall performance of the device and upgrades a number of built-in apps

Alongside the release of the Nokia N97 Mini, the original N97 has been given a firmware update, version 2.0.

The update adds a new type of scrolling, dubbed ‘flip scrolling’, and updates Ovi Maps, Nokia Email, Ovi Contacts and the Ovi Store. You can update your Nokia N97 by heading over the Nokia’s dedicated updates section and following the instructions there.

The 2.0 N97 update also improves battery performance and memory usage.

The Nokia N97 is Nokia’s current N-series flagship device. We weren’t overly keen with the device at review, so it’s good to see some improvements made to it, even if they’re not going to remove that increasing layer of must from the Symbian operating system.
