T-Mobile offers free Internet for pre-pay customers

T-Mobile has started offering a free Mobile Internet allowance for pre-pay users paying £10 a month onto their SIM

Following in the footsteps of Orange, T-Mobile has started offering free Internet allowance for pre-pay customers loading £10 a month or more onto their SIMs.

However, while T-Mobile calls this Mobile Internet allowance ‘unlimited’, it is subject to a pretty limiting fair use policy. It gives you a fairly paltry 40MB daily allowance. While this will be fine for checking up on your emails and doing a little browsing, you’re not going to be able to stream too much music under these restrictions.

T-Mobile says it won’t charge you extra if you go overboard, but your access may be throttled or stopped after that point.

In spite of these reservations, this cheap pre-pay Mobile Internet solution is a fundamental requirement for the new wave of budget-focused Android handsets designed to bring real smartphone capabilities to an audience that can’t afford to splash out £30 a month on a phone.
