Many characters from comedy sketch shows have infamous catchphrases. Even if you've never seen the show, it's likely you've heard them through other people doing their own impressions.

Much like listening to music, the familiarity becomes part of the fun. While our iPhone already helps us have our favorite music in our pockets, it can now help us have our favorite character catchphrases to hand.

Proper Bo is the iPhone app that any fan of Leigh Francis' Bo Selecta series has been waiting for.

On the home screen there can be found the heads no less than six of Bo Selecta's finest including celebrity spoof characters such as Michael Jackson, Craig David and Mel B. Pressing the heads of the respective characters plays a soundbite of one of the character's catchphrases or more famous lines.

Each character has 14 different sound bites which will be played at random when you press the portrait icon. Each of the portraits are complete with full costume and ridiculous facial expression. To keep things a bit easier on the eye, they bob around on the spot slightly which looks better than it might with them being static.

All of the best catchphrases have been included. Craig David's infamous lines such as 'it were reet bo, I tell thee' and 'Craaaaig Daaaaavid' are present. Michael Jackson features the full compliment of 'eeeheee's, 'chamone's and 'kiss my bad self's.

We fully expected Mel B to be locked and loaded with with brutally crude quotes relating to certain parts of the female anatomy. However, her repertoire has been largely cleaned up for this family-friendly app and about the worst it gets is 'yer bastard, yer'.

If you fancy mixing up your own batch of quotes then pressing and holding a character's portrait will open up a screen where you can select them individually. The app doesn't feature any settings menus and the features we've outlined here are pretty much all Proper Bo does.

For this reason, the novelty isn't going to last forever to put it lightly. If you and some of your friends or co-workers are fans of the series then the £1.19 should bag you quite a few laughs.
