How to change themes on your Sony Ericsson W890i

It's easy to make big changes to the look and feel of your Sony Ericsson W890i simply by changing its theme - something than can take just a few seconds and only a few button presses.

The Themes feature included on the phone lets you change the whole appearance of your phone's display and menu system. Most themes include a wallpaper image, colour scheme and screensaver. You can also get themes that add 'haptic feedback' (a small vibrating buzz) when you press menu keys. Several of these come pre-loaded.

The Sony Ericsson W890i comes with a selection of pre-loaded swappable themes for your handset. You can also download new ones from Sony Ericsson itself directly from the phone, or from other content providers such as your operator or other websites.

To select or change a theme:

• From the standby page select Menu (Figure 1)
• From the main Menu screen select Settings (Figure 2).
• Scroll across to Display.
• Scroll down to Themes (Figure 3) and press Select.
• Scroll down to the theme you want to use and press Set (Figure 4).

Alternatively, on the Themes menu page, select the Sony Ericsson option at the top of the list to access a selection of new themes to download. This will involve going online so be prepared for additional data charges if you are not on an unlimited data plan.

Once you've selected your Theme, it will take a few seconds to be set (Figure 5), but then your menus, wallpaper and display colour scheme will all change (Figure 6).

Press the End key to get back straight to your new-look standby screen (Figure 7).

You can easily swap the Theme back to the original, or any of the others, simply by following the same procedure described above.
