The phones aren’t official yet, so it is impossible to say with 100% accuracy what they’ll be like when they launch but thanks to myriad leaks over the past 12 months, we got a pretty good idea.
Here’s how it all breaks down, model by model…

As it stands, the Pixel 10 series is expected to include three main models: the standard Pixel 10, the more advanced Pixel 10 Pro, and the big, bold Pixel 10 Pro XL.
Here’s how they’re shaping up so far—and which one might be right for you.
Pixel 10 – The Everyman’s Phone
Expected Display: 6.3-inch AMOLED
Expected RAM: 12GB
Camera Setup: New triple-camera system — possibly including a periscope telephoto lens
Chipset: Tensor G5
Software: Android 16 + Pixel Sense AI
Best For:
- Users who want a powerful phone without spending flagship-tier money
- iPhone 13/14 users thinking about switching
- People who care about photography, but not necessarily pro-level editing
What’s New:
For the first time, the standard Pixel could ship with three rear cameras, giving you real telephoto zoom on a non-Pro model. That’s huge. Combine this with the AI smarts of Google’s Tensor G5 chip, and you’re looking at a seriously capable device for everyday users who don’t want to spend $1K+.
Bottom Line:
The Pixel 10 looks like it’s going to be the sweet spot for most users—big on features, lean on price.
Pixel 10 Pro – The Compact Powerhouse
Expected Display: 6.3-inch AMOLED (same size as Pixel 10, but higher-quality panel)
Expected RAM: 16GB
Camera Setup: Triple-lens with 5x telephoto zoom
Chipset: Tensor G5
Software: Android 16 + Pixel Sense AI
Other Perks: Polished materials (glossy frame), faster charging, more storage (up to 512GB or 1TB)
Best For:
- Creators, professionals, and power users
- People who live in their phones (think: Gmail, Docs, Camera, Calendar)
- Anyone who wants the best Pixel features without going XL
What’s New:
You’re getting a full-fat Tensor G5, likely better display tuning, more RAM, and sharper AI performance thanks to upgraded TPU and on-device ML acceleration. It’ll feel noticeably snappier during multitasking, app switching, and camera processing.
Bottom Line:
If you want the full Pixel experience—but don’t love the idea of an oversized phone—the Pixel 10 Pro is your pick.
Pixel 10 Pro XL – The Bad Ass
Expected Display: 6.8-inch AMOLED
Expected RAM: 16GB
Camera Setup: Triple-lens with enhanced zoom + upgraded selfie camera
Chipset: Tensor G5
Software: Android 16 + Pixel Sense AI
Extra Perks: Bigger battery, peak brightness up to 3000 nits, likely exclusive software features
Best For:
- Big-screen lovers
- Mobile gamers, video editors, and binge-watchers
- People who want Pro Max-level everything
What’s New:
The XL is expected to go all out—larger display, boosted peak brightness for better visibility outdoors, and possibly exclusive AI features baked into Android 16. It could even be the first Pixel to support true 1-120Hz refresh rate on a high-brightness panel.
Bottom Line:
If you live and die by screen real estate and want the absolute best that Google has to offer, this is your phone.
So, Which Pixel 10 Should You Get?
When it does get a release later this year, I don’t think any Pixel 9 users will be clamouring to update their phones – especially the Pro XL users.
As is always the case now, even big leaps between phone series seldom see (or, indeed, require) and update after just 12 months.
Add in the fact that Pixel 8 and Pixel 9 users will get iPhone-like levels of support and, yeah: I think it’s safe to assume the Pixel 10 will be aimed at converting Apple and Samsung users.
And, legacy Pixel phones users – anyone running a Pixel 7 or lower, I imagine. When the time does come, if you’re not familiar with how Google divvies up its Pixel phones here’s the gist:
- Go for the Pixel 10 if you want a capable, well-balanced phone with solid camera upgrades at a more approachable price.
- Choose the Pixel 10 Pro if you’re all about photography, performance, and long-term use with a bit more power under the hood.
- Grab the Pixel 10 Pro XL if screen size, battery life, and all the bells and whistles matter most.
